We have the privilege of hosting several IPS high schools for character camps in the fall and spring as a day field trip where ropes course, lake activities and group field games create plenty of learning and positive experiences. These camps are adapted to create our summer day camps for local youth through local community centers and our IPS connections.
Our Str8Up students get to use the facilities with us on a regular basis as well; the gym, lake, field games and horses are favorites for many students!
Character Camps
“It’s easier to build strong children than it is to repair broken men.”
– Fredrick Douglas
Str8Up’s unique educational ministry fosters positive relationships with schools, churches, and community centers to get students into meaningful relationships with others, off the sideline, onto the field fully engaged. Character camp has hosted more than 600 IPS students and is Str8Up’s way of providing kids a slice of summer camp activities including field games, team building, short hikes, and brief youth talks aimed at character and leadership formation. Camp gets kids out so character can be built in.
Low Ropes Course
We developed a low ropes course in the woods behind our clubhouse in the spring of 2018. This new area provides opportunities for team building and character development, as we stretch students and leaders alike on activities that get to the heart and are fun!
It has and will continue to provide hours of engagement.
